Timeka Cooley |
A native Chicagoan, Timeka Cooley graduated from Whitney Young Magnet High School before attending Bradley University, where she earned Dean’s List honors. At Bradley, Miss Cooley gave ample amounts of her time, energy, and commitment to help close the achievement gap in various schools in Peoria such as Roosevelt Magnet School for the Arts, Hines, Whittier, and Harrison Primary and Middle Schools. As the President of Bradley’s chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Timeka organized health fairs, tutoring programs, and food and coat drives. Timeka also worked with various other service organizations, such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., to provide her campus and the surrounding inner city communities with necessary services. Timeka graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education & Middle School Mathematics.
