Nicole Boardman

Nicole BoardmanNicole Boardman enjoyed growing up in Rochester, Minnesota, as the middle child in a family of ten! After earning her Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University, Nicole taught English at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia, where she also served as the head coach for the boys and girls crew team. During this time, she participated in the Language Minority Teacher Induction Program at George Mason University. She then moved to California and taught sixth grade math and science in the Ravenswood City School District and taught middle school language arts and social studies in Palo Alto. In an effort to study and address the inequities she observed among the various school districts where she worked, Nicole earned her Master of Education in School Leadership – School Development from Harvard University. Nicole returned to Chicago and taught sixth grade language arts and social studies at the National Teachers Academy before joining KIPP Ascend in 2005. Prior to becoming the Principal in 2007, Nicole served as the Director of Business Operations for the school. On Sundays, Nicole enjoys going for long runs along Lake Michigan to prepare for her next marathon.
