Learn At KIPP Ascend
KIPP Ascend Charter School is a free, public middle school where ALL students learn and prepare for college. The average KIPP student enters 5th grade reading and performing math below grade level. KIPPsters are some of the hardest working kids in Chicago because they attend school from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, on Saturday, and for three weeks in the summer. They complete 2 hours of homework each night and call their teachers’ cell phones when they need help.
In exchange for their hard work, they are recruited by the best schools in the city, state, and country. KIPP Ascend graduates have earned over $3.6 million in scholarships to college preparatory high schools. KIPP Ascend Alumni are attending schools like Phillips Exeter (NH), Lake Forest Academy, The Latin School, and Lindblom Math & Science Academy.
