Learn At KIPP Ascend
KIPP Ascend Charter School is a free, public middle school where ALL students learn and prepare for college. The average KIPP student enters 5th grade reading at the 2nd grade level and doing math at the 3rd grade level. KIPPsters are the hardest working kids in Chicago because they attend school from 7:25 am – 5 pm and every other Saturday; complete 2 hours of homework and call their teachers for help each night. In exchange for their hard work, they are recruited by the most prestigious boarding schools in the country. KIPP Ascend 8th graders ranked 1st in Chicago on the ISAT in math, and earned over $2.4M in scholarships to college preparatory high schools.
KIPP Ascend has the longest school day and year in the state of Illinois. Our students work hard, and their hard work pays off. KIPP Ascend Alumni are attending schools like Phillips Exeter (NH), Lake Forest Academy, The Latin School, and Lindblom Math & Science Academy.
